Almost Drenched, Totally Blessed – Karsyn’s Session at Meadowbrook Farm


I almost died. Okay—not literally. But on the way to meet Karsyn for her senior session, the sky started spitting just enough rain to make me say oh noooo out loud in the car. Typical East Tennessee drama, right? But wouldn’t you know it—God stepped in right on time and cleared those clouds just two minutes before I pulled up. Divine timing at its finest.


Karsyn and her sweet momma met me with smiles, and right away I could feel it. That calm, steady energy Karsyn carries so effortlessly. Being around her is like taking a deep breath—you just feel more at ease. There’s something about her that reminds me how powerful presence can be, especially at such a young age. She’s got big dreams ahead, and I could already tell—her mom is her biggest fan and backbone. You love to see it.


We shot at Meadowbrook Farm in Jefferson City, which I had never been to before. But oh my goodness—no disappointment whatsoever. The weather gave us just enough drama to make the skies interesting (thanks again, Jesus), and the windmill? I was obsessed. Like, fully want-to-pack-it-in-my-car obsessed. The vibe was chef’s kiss.


But here’s the thing. Senior sessions aren’t just about pretty backdrops and the perfect light. It’s about connection. It’s about stepping into a space where each senior can be their authentic self—sometimes shy, sometimes bold, always real. My job isn’t just to take photos. It’s to see them. To help them feel comfortable, confident, and celebrated right where they are in life.


Karsyn reminded me of that in the sweetest, quietest way. She’s a light. And she made me pause and feel that deep, soul-level gratitude for what I get to do. For the stories I get to tell. For the calm moments, the laughter, the unexpected windmills, and yes—even the rain.


This job? I’ll never take it for granted. 💛
