Eden at the Lavender Farm with the bees, chickens and birds
Let’s talk about Eden.
Senior at Morristown West High. One of my senior influencers. And let me just say—she is magic. I did her photos last summer, and when I saw her name pop up again for this session, I was so excited. Her eyes? Green and completely mesmerizing. Like, you can’t look away. And her laughter? Actual music. The kind that makes you smile even if you’re not sure why you’re smiling.
Mom and Dad came along for this session—and let me tell you, they were adorable. Watching from a distance, just soaking it in. The disbelief was all over their faces… like, how is this our baby’s senior year already? (Spoiler alert: I ask myself the same thing every time I do a session like this.) They even snapped a few behind-the-scenes photos of their girl. You could just feel the pride.
We shot at the MGM Lavender Farm in Knoxville, TN—and while it’s insanely beautiful, let me paint you the realpicture:
Hot. Humid. Bees --- but friendly bees!
The kind of Southern summer weather that makes your hair stick to your face within five minutes of being outside. We had to reschedule a couple weeks ago thanks to rain, but thankfully, today showed up for us. Even the sun peeked through the trees like, “Hey y’all, I got you,” and lit Eden’s hair up with the most gorgeous golden light.
Now let’s talk about the bees.
They were everywhere. Buzzing. Swarming. VIBING. And while they didn’t technically bother us, let’s just say they made their presence known. We may have jumped. Flinched. Possibly squealed once or twice. (Okay, fine—it was me. I squealed.)
But the real scene-stealers? The birds.
I kid you not, two birds were in the middle of… let’s call it an intimate aerial moment… and decided to spiral directly into my face. I screamed. I flailed. I covered my eyes like a child watching a horror movie. Meanwhile, Eden was effortlessly glowing in the lavender like the queen she is.
Also, the chickens? Yep. Clucking and wandering around like they owned the place. I’m convinced they just wanted snacks—or maybe their own senior portraits.
Despite all that, Eden made the entire session look like a dream. She’s just easy to photograph. Natural. Radiant. Confident. She brings her whole self and makes posing for the biggest milestone of high school look like a cake walk.
I adore this girl.
And I adore this season she’s in.
Senior year is a lot of things—bittersweet, exciting, emotional—but Eden is walking into it with grace, style, and laughter that still rings in my ears.
Can’t wait to see where this year takes her.
